Yes. Several car rental companies operate in and around Akumal, and vehicles can usually be delivered. This makes it easy to arrive by private transfer or taxi from the airport and arrange a rental later if you decide you would like a car for part of your stay.

Many guests choose this option. It allows you to settle in first and then rent a vehicle for a day or two if you plan to explore the Riviera Maya further.

One company we know that that delivers cars to Akumal is ISIS rent a car based out of playa del carmen.

Renting a car offers the most flexibility if you expect to explore the Riviera Maya, visit cenotes, or take day trips to places like Tulum, Playa del Carmen, or the Mayan ruins. The drive to Akumal is straightforward along Highway 307, and parking is available at Lol Ka’naab.

Private airport transfers are a very popular option for guests who prefer a simple, stress-free arrival. A driver meets you at the airport and takes you directly to the property. This works well if you plan to spend most of your time relaxing in Akumal and do not need a car immediately.

Airport taxis are also available, though they are usually the most expensive option and typically arranged at fixed rates at the airport.

Uber is generally not available for airport pickup at Cancun or Tulum Airport. Due to transportation regulations and ongoing disputes with local taxi unions, rideshare services are typically not permitted to pick up passengers directly at the airports.

While Uber may operate in some nearby areas of Cancun or Tulum, it is usually unavailable or unreliable for airport arrivals, so most visitors instead arrange a private transfer, taxi, or rental car from the airport.

For this reason, guests traveling to Akumal generally choose either a pre-arranged private transfer or a rental car, which provide the most straightforward and dependable way to reach Lol Ka’naab from the airport.

Not necessarily. Lol Ka’naab is located in a quiet beachfront area of Akumal, and many guests are happy to spend most of their time enjoying the beach, swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing at the property.

That said, having a car can be convenient if you plan to explore more of the Riviera Maya, including places like Tulum, Playa del Carmen, or the Mayan ruins. Many visitors choose to relax in Akumal for most of their stay and rent a car for a day or two if they decide to take excursions.

Yes. Parking is available at Lol Ka’naab for guests with a vehicle.

The property has private parking and additional street parking nearby, making it convenient if you choose to rent a car during your stay.

Most guests who drive simply park at the building and use it as a base for exploring the surrounding area, including Akumal, Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and nearby cenotes.

It can be convenient, especially if you are arriving later in the day or prefer to have a few essentials ready when you arrive.
