These two cenotes are located right across the street from each other and both can be visited for the cost of one ticket. They are perfect cenotes for casual lounging about and swimming for a low cost.
The cenotes are open air style, and surrounded by jungle, which creates a private oasis feeling for you. They are also usually not crowded which adds to the their intimacy. There are areas around the water to have a siesta if you want.
These cenotes are perfect for jumping into and splashing around. The water is usually crystal clear and a pretty blue green. There is a 12 foot jumping deck at Cristal. Escondido has a swing rope.
Cristal is round and pond shaped, while Escondido is longer and slimmer, like a river. Escondido is more junglier than Cristal.
There are showers and cabana toilets on site. There are also decks by the water and picnic tables you can use. You need to bring your own supplies, such as a snorkel kit and food and water because there are no rentals. There are also no lockers so leave valuables at your hotel.
