Kann Luum in Tulum is an off the beaten track, best kept secret. Hidden away in the middle of rich, lush green jungle, Kann Luum Lagoon is like a beautiful blue eye.
In the middle of the lagoon is a deep water cenote that spills over onto an expansive and very shallow perimeter. The shades of blue formed by the profile of this lagoon are spectacular.
Most of the activity here happens in the safe shallow portion of the lagoon. The roped-off deeper section in the middle isn’t so safe because there are currents there that can suck bathers down into the cenote. Some people freedive there but it’s not recommended. Paddleboarding is very popular in the shallow portion because the water is calm and steady. The shallow water is also ideal for swimming because it’s nice and warm. Holistic mud baths are a fun thing you can do around the lagoon edge.
